Tumbleweeds, Road Runners and Cactus (just to begin with) were exotic then, and have fascinated me since. These desert specimens were referenced from plantings in downtown Dallas. Exhibited at the

CWCT, took up residence in an historic village in Round Top, TX. Because of fire danger, in earlier days cooking was done either in separate buildings or outside. We set up kitchen on the large porch of our house and built a cooking fire in the yard. It became an inviting situation for friendly visits from the public and our living history neighbors like this young lady. (Sold at
